Complete fitting kit to install a Double DIN head unit and retain the original steering wheel controls in BMW 3-Series (E46) cars fitted with Basic radio. Includes cutting guides and new panels to allow easier modification of the heater box which is needed to fit a full sized Double DIN radio into the dashboard.

Modification to the heater box can be avoided by fitting a radio with a compact/ single DIN rear chassis at the top the radio, such as the SONY XAV-AX3005DB shown below:

Below is a picture of an aftermarket head unit upgrade using this facia kit with the original RHD centre console panel modified to fit the climate control module where the upper storage tray was. 

Fascia Adaptor

This adaptor will convert the non din-sized aperture left after removing the factory stereo to a din size ready for head unit installation. The high quality finish, colour and texture are designed specifically to maintain the original look of your vehicles interior.

Steering Control Adaptor

A stalk/steering wheel control adaptor enables you to utilise the original factory remote audio (whether built onto steering wheel or fitted on a stalk next to the steering wheel) with an aftermarket unit. 

Steering wheel control interface and adapter cable for various BMW cars to fit an aftermarket radio upgrade. The cable adapts from the 17 Round Pin connector in the car to standard ISO aftermarket ISO connectors. This replaces the need for a separate ISO radio replacement adapter cable. The CANbus steering wheel control interface is built in to the adapter cable. This interface will allow the original audio control buttons on the steering wheel to work with the new aftermarket radio.

Aerial Adaptor

An Aerial Adaptor is needed when replacing the original factory fitted head unit with an aftermarket head unit.  

Male Fakra to Male DIN antenna adapter cable. This cable adapts from a Farka antenna connection at the back of the cars original radio to a standard aftermarket DIN antenna connection to allow the fitting of an aftermarket radio upgrade. This is a passive adapter cable, not suitable for cars that need a phantom power supply to turn on the antenna amplifier.

Important Fascia Notes

• The fascias are made to suit industry standard sized stereos such as Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, Alpine, JVC etc, NOT INCLUDING China units or unbranded units. 
• China units have a reputation to be over sized and may require modification to the fascia to allow it to fit.
• We do not take any responsibility for China units not fitting as they are not industry standard size.

Car Audio Fitting Accessories are sold with limited instructions. Some knowledge of car audio installation is helpful, as in some rare case "modification" is necessary.
